Reimagining Systems to Reach Families Where They Are

Project EMPOWER-ED is a free, 15-20 minute single session program for caregivers supporting a loved one struggling with disordered eating and/or an eating disorder.
Developed in collaboration with FEAST and the clinical and research teams at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, Mayo Clinic, Northwestern University, and Boston University, this program recognizes the powerful role caregivers play in challenging their child’s disordered eating at home.
It is designed for caregivers who may be worried about some of the following changes in their child’s eating or behaviors:
-
Skipping meals or cutting out certain foods
-
Having a hard time eating enough
-
Eating much less than they normally do
-
Losing weight or not gaining weight as expected
-
Worrying a lot about weight, shape, or appearance
-
Exercising too much or feeling unable to take a break from exercise
-
Avoiding foods they used to enjoy
